About sandblasting
About sandblasting
Sandblasting is a widely used surface treatment for cleaning, derusting, and preparing metal parts for further processing. After production, forged, cast, and machined parts may have a rough surface, casting residue, mill scale, or contamination. Blasting creates a clean and uniform surface.
During sandblasting, metal parts are treated under high pressure with a blasting medium, such as aluminum oxide, ceramic beads, or other abrasive materials. Depending on the material and the desired finish, we select the most suitable blasting method.
The advantages of sandblasting include:
• Removal of rust, dirt, and oxidation
• Improvement of surface quality
• Preparation for galvanizing, coating, or painting
• Better adhesion of coatings and paint
• Uniform appearance of metal parts
In addition to traditional sandblasting, parts can also be tumbled or polished to achieve a smoother surface. This not only results in a better appearance but also improves the quality of subsequent surface treatments.
Woerden Sales can provide various blasting and surface treatments for components within the trailer construction, mechanical engineering, and industrial sectors.
